Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I need to get started?

All you need to get started is a pair of long pants, and boots!  If you do not own a pair of boots, tennis shoes

will work until you are able to acquire a good pair of riding boots.  Helmets are required for all riders under the

age of 18, however we strongly recommend equestrian helmets for all of our riders.  You do not need to own

your own helmet to get started. We have plenty of helmets available to borrow for lessons in various sizes.

You will also need to make sure you have printed and signed the necessary forms before interacting with the

horses.  Please make sure you thoroughly read through the Barn/Stable rules, which can be found under the

"Forms and Resources" tab right here online.

  • How do I get on the schedule for recurring lessons every week?

You can reach out to us directly via text message or email, and request a recurring slot in the lesson schedule!

  • Do I need to sign anything or fill out any forms before lessons?

Yes!  All the forms and waivers you will need can be found under the "Forms and Resources" tab right here on

our website!  All students are required to have a signed High Valley Horses liability waiver as well as a signed

copy of the Barn/Stable rules.  Please make sure you thoroughly read through these two forms before your

                     scheduled appointment time.

  • How do I pay for lessons or other High Valley Horses' services?

We accept payment through cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle.  Checks can be made out to "Cami Johnson".  Our

venmo username is "HighValleyHorses".  Payments made through Zelle can be sent to "Cami Johnson" at

                     (714) 267-3049.

  • Can I enroll in a Group Lesson?

Students must be at least 10 years old to enroll in group lessons.  Students must also be independent in their

basic riding skills and groundwork with the horses.  This includes being able to groom the horse, and tack up

independently, as well as be confident in their walk, trot, and canter under saddle.  Please reach out directly to

                     inquire about group lessons!

  • How do I book a lesson or trail ride?

You can request a lesson time online!  Under the "lessons" tab, you can find the "book now" section where

you can check out available lesson times and even request a specific time and day!  You will get a

confirmation text through the Vagaro App or through an SMS message on your cellular device!
